FSC

FSC®, Forest Stewardship Council®

Companies which are certified receive a COC (Chain of Custody) Number.

FSC®, Forest Stewardship Council®

By purchasing FSC-certified products you contribute towards a more responsible way of dealing with global forest resources. The FSC achieves this by defining and checking enviromental- and social standards in regard to forest management and by considering recycling material which can be used in FSC-certified products. Products with FSC-Labels represent the utilisation of forests according to strict social, economic and ecological needs and for the respectful handling of recycling materials – for the benefit of current and future generations.

Companies which are certified, receive a COC (Chain of Custody) Number and the licence to resell FSC certified products as such. The company certification does not however mean that the traded products are also certified!
The extent of the certificate defines which FSC certified products may be traded. This can be checked via a public database.: http://info.fsc.org.

See for yourself! Enter the Barth&Co COC-Nummer SCS-COC-000536. Below the tab „Productdata“ you can see which kind of products our company is allowed to sell with the FSC-Certificate.

There are different FSC categories:

FSC 100% = 100% of the delivered product stems from FSC certified forests.
FSC Mix = X % of the product stems from an FSC certified forest. The rest stems from controlled forest management.
FSC Recycled = The product stems from a recycling collection which must be carried out according to a specific FSC standard.

The PEFC-Seal

PEFC

PEFC is a transparent and independent system for securing sustainable forest management and therefore represents a global forest MOT. PEFC is the abbreviation for the English term “Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes”, therefore a “programme for the acknowledgement of forest certification systems.”

Forest certification according to the standards of PEFC is based on the strict guidelines for the sustainable management of forests. This is monitored by competent and independent organisations. The PEFC-Seal for wood products means: The entire manufacturing process- from the raw materials to the ready-for-use endproduct – is certified and controlled by independent surveyors.

natureplus®

The natureplus®-quality mark

The natureplus®-quality mark

The natureplus®-quality mark supplies developers, architects and craftsmen with a reliable orientation when choosing suitable products.
It represents health compatibility, enviromentally safe production, protection of finite resources and the usability of the certified products. Goods with this mark usually consist of renewable and nature-friendly raw materials. Sophisticated testing methods and the strictest emission limit values in Europe guarantee the safety of the certified products.

A special feature of the natureplus-testing is that not only eco-friendly construction, but also technical aspects, production standards and the origin of the used raw materials are inspected. In regard to parquet only naturally oiled products are admitted for inspection. For tropical woods the FSC certificate is a prerequisite.
A comprehensive test report of the certified manufacturers/products is supplied to interested parties on request as a PDF File.
